Discovered a long-lost treasure from my youth! The family secret recipe


Saute the veggies and sausage: Brown and crumble the sausage in a skillet. In the same pan, soften the onions and bell pepper, if using.
Put the Pie Together: Place the cooked sausage onto a pie plate that has been buttered. Add the shredded cheeses and sautéed veggies on top.
In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, half-and-half, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
Top the sausage and cheese with the egg mixture in the pie plate.
Cook: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the pie for 35–40 minutes, or until it is set.
Before serving, allow the pie to cool somewhat. Add some chives or green onions as a garnish if you want.
