Potato and Ham Soup Made in a Slow Cooker

1/4 teaspoon of Kosher salt

1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, freshly cracked

one-fourth cup of flour

Quarts of chicken stock

1/2 cup heavy cream (or 1 cup whole milk, if preferred)

Sour cream, half a cup

Here are the steps:

Season with Kosher salt, pepper, chopped onions, carrots, celery, ham, and chicken broth. Place in a slow cooker. Allow to simmer for seven to eight hours, or cook for four to five hours on high heat.

Use a potato masher to mash about one-third of the potatoes; the ham will not mash very much.

Lightly combine the flour, sour cream, and heavy cream/milk. Tent and continue cooking for another fifteen minutes over high heat.

Plenty for 8 people
