Ingredients
Base:

1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup celery, finely diced
1/4 cup carrot, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
Seasoning & Thickener:

2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)
Salt and black pepper to taste
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Liquids:

4 cups seafood or chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
Seafood:

1/2 pound cooked crab meat (shells removed)
1/2 pound cooked shrimp (peeled, deveined, and chopped)
Optional Flavor Enhancer:

2 tablespoons sherry (optional)
Garnish:

Fresh herbs (parsley, chives, or dill)
