Creamy Mushroom Soup Recipe


Ingredients (Serves 4-6)
For the Soup:

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
500g (1 lb) fresh mushrooms (button, cremini, or a mix), sliced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (or 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves)
4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter option)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Optional Garnishes:

Fresh parsley, chopped
A drizzle of truffle oil
Croutons or crusty bread on the side
Instructions
Sauté the Aromatics
In a large pot, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Once melted, add the onion and garlic. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
